South Farm Christmas Trees

Family owned and operated farm in Bethlehem, New Hampshire

Formerly a part of the The Rocks Estate (The Rocks), the farm has a rich farming history.

Now owned by Nigel Manley and Judy Ratzel, the farm is once again run in a sustainable manner and now the crops are Christmas trees and garlic.

Nigel has an extensive farming background with over 30 years in the Christmas tree business. Judy, a NH native moved from the seacoast and followed her dream to live in the mountains.

Cut-Your-Own Christmas Trees

There are several tree species grown on the farm, each one hand planted on a family and friends planting day and then carefully looked after by Nigel and the family to create the perfect tree for your holiday celebrations.

Nigel is experimenting with several different tree species Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir (a type of Balsam Fir), Korean Fir, Korean/Balsam cross and Fralsam (Fraser/Balsam cross).

The farm is open to the public for CYO from 10 AM - 3:30 PM the last weekend in November (including Friday) and the first two weekends in December unless sold out before.

Weekday sales are by appointment only. Nigel can be reached at 603-991-1970

Spirit Tastings

Nigel has spent over 30 years collecting, learning about and talking about spirits. Asked by two of his friends, Nigel jumped at the chance and was able to combine his love for teaching and the world of spirits into a series of interactive but very educational programs that he presents in bars, restaurants or in private settings.

Find out the different varieties & enjoy our favorite recipes. From our family to yours.

Apple Tree Pruning

Apple tree pruning should be done annually. Nigel teaches two classes a year helping people learn the basics of pruning. He will also travel and access trees on site by appointment to prune or teach property owners how to prune their own trees.

Nigel specializes in bringing older non-pruned trees back into good order.
